A field guide for people who already live here
Anyway, Vienna is not a guide. Guides are for the week you arrive. This is for the years after — a weekly discovery tool for people who know the Ring from the Gürtel and still want a reason to leave the flat on a Thursday.
We cover gallery openings, underrated Beisln, independent cinema, music, food and outdoor life. Always with the name, the address, and the district number. No rankings. No listicles. No “hidden gems.”
Daily stories and the newsletter are written in the voice of Claire Nakamura, our editorial persona: dry, specific, fond of the city, and allergic to press-release language. Claire recommends, files, and covers; she does not pretend to have physically attended every opening or sat at every table.
How we choose things
Anyway, Vienna is curated from research, local signals, and editorial judgment. A place or event has to feel useful to someone who already lives here. We prefer specific reasons to go, clear practical details, and a genuine fit with the city over hype, tourist framing, or generic lifestyle copy.
Editorial and partners
Editorial judgment comes first. If a paid partner or sponsor appears on the public website, it is disclosed visibly and still has to fit the same standard as everything else we publish.
