Fuhrgassl-Huber has been doing this since 1973. The vineyard sits on the edge of the Wienerwald, the light changes through the afternoon, and the city noise fades into the sound of cicadas and wine glasses. They pour their own Gemischter Satz — the classic Viennese mixed white wine, several varieties planted together and harvested as one. It tastes different every year.
The Gastgarten is the reason to come in summer. Long June and July evenings, when you can sit outside until late without thinking about the time. The menu is straightforward — Schnitzel, Erdäpfelsalat, Brot, Käse — the kind of food that works with wine and doesn't compete with it. The waiter won't fuss. The wine is cold.
Monday to Saturday they open at 14:00, Sunday at 12:00. Closed Mondays in winter (check the new winter hours on the website). The Neustifter Kirtag in August is the neighbourhood's festival — traditional music, the Hauerbaum raising, the Hauerkrone procession. Fuhrgassl-Huber fills with people who have been coming for decades.

WILMA Rooftop — STASTA Hotel, Haeckelstraße, the 23rd
- When
- 1 June 2026 – 30 September 2026
- Where
- 23rd · Liesing
WILMA is the rooftop of the STASTA, a family-run hotel and restaurant in Liesing that's been a neighbourhood fixture for years. It opened in June at 14 metres height on Haeckelstraße, the first rooftop in the south of Vienna, with views across the entire district. The concept is all-day: modern breakfast (Eggs Benedict, French toast), soulfood (beef tartare, house-cured salmon), and Sundowner drinks. The centrepiece is a begehbarer Weinschrank — a walk-in wine cabinet where you can browse and taste directly. Hours are Mon–Thu 07:00–23:00, Fri–Sat 07:00–23:30, Sun 07:00–21:00. The 23rd doesn't usually make the food press. This is why it should.

- When
- 1 June 2026 – 30 September 2026
- Where
- 21st · Floridsdorf
Heuriger Wieninger sits on Stammersdorfer Straße in the 21st district, a proper Buschenschank with vineyard views and no menu — just wine and Jause, the way a Heuriger should work. The Wieninger family has been making wine in Stammersdorf for generations. Fritz Wieninger, who runs the estate now, is widely credited with elevating Viennese wine to international recognition, and the family's commitment to Wiener Gemischter Satz — Vienna's signature white blend — is serious and consistent. The Heuriger is the outdoor version of their wine operation: open Saturday from 12:00 to midnight, Sunday from 12:00 to 22:00, with vineyard views across the Bisamberg. There's a buffet of traditional Viennese food — Schweinsbraten, Schnitzel, seasonal specials — and the wine list is their own production. Buschenschank prices. The 21st district is underused in Vienna recommendations, but it's worth the tram ride north of the Donau on a summer Sunday. U6 to Floridsdorf, then tram 31 to Stammersdorf.

- When
- 8 April 2026 – 30 September 2026
- Where
- 2nd · Leopoldstadt
Water Louu is the summer extension of Bar Louu, one of Vienna's best cocktail bars (rated 90 in the Falstaff Bar Guide 2026), transplanted to the Donaukanal. It opened in April at the Taste!Garden on Obere Donaustraße in the 2nd, bringing the same serious cocktail program and beautiful old wooden furniture to the water. The point is the location — the same quality, but by the canal, in the open air, where the city's pace slows. The 2nd district Donaukanal strip is one of Vienna's most active summer areas; Water Louu fits naturally into that texture.
