Every Saturday at 6:30 AM, the Naschmarkt transforms. Around 400 sellers—professional dealers and private individuals alike—set up stalls along the market's length. The range is genuinely wide: high-quality antiques sit next to kitschy finds, vintage clothing hangs beside old records and books, and curiosities from across Europe and beyond fill the gaps. It is not a polished antiques fair. It is a flea market in the truest sense.
The Rhythm
The market runs until 3 PM, and the early hours are crucial. Serious collectors and dealers arrive before dawn. If you want first pick at the good furniture, the rare records, the vintage fashion, you get there early. By 9 AM, the crowd is thick. By noon, the energy shifts—some stalls have already sold out their best pieces, and the later arrivals are hunting for whatever remains.
One rule keeps the market fresh: each seller is only allowed to participate three times per year. This rotation means the offerings change constantly. You could visit weekly and never see the same stalls twice.
The Atmosphere
The flea market runs alongside the daily food stalls, creating a dense, active social environment. You can eat while you browse. The 6th district location is accessible by U4 to Kettenbrückengasse. The market is closed Sundays and weekdays—Saturday is the only day.

Sussitz marks a decade at the Karmelitermarkt with a producer-focused celebration: 20+ winemakers and food artisans from across Austria pour their own bottles and tell their stories. Guest of honor is Vittorio Gianni Capovilla, one of Italy's most respected distillers—a figure revered in the field for revolutionizing fruit distillation through water-bath methods that preserve delicate aromas. This is the kind of event where you actually talk to the people making the wine, no velvet rope, no gatekeeping. The afternoon runs 15–21h on October 10 in the 2nd district.

- 14th · Penzing
A multimedia exhibition on queer forms of remembrance, death, and transience at Queer Museum Vienna. The show explores how traditional mourning rituals often fail to reflect queer lived realities — how death can mean erasure or reinterpretation, how queer people are separated from chosen families and social contexts. Artists present mourning as collective experience and envision queer alternatives to funerals and burial sites. The work spans installation, video, performance, and film, with pieces on lesbian vampires, drag queens as undertakers, and the remembrance of destroyed autonomous spaces. Curated by barbara stöhr. Thu–Sun 2–6pm. Free entry.
